It's summertime and for many Americans this is the time we take a break from the hustle
and bustle of our daily routines to get rest and relaxation. But before you pack up the car or secure those cheap seats with
your favorite airline, make sure you've planned for your spiritual – as well as your physical – renewal. God not
only wants to replenish your mind and body; God wants to restore your spirit.
Thank you Lord for every good and perfect gift released from heaven. We rejoice knowing
that you are sovereign and in control of everything. We thank you for creating all things to work perfectly according to your
divine purpose. We thank you for the time you give us to work and the time you give us to enjoy the fruit of our work.
Bless us, God, during these summer months with renewed wisdom. Bless us to return from
our season of rest with new insights and creative energies. During our time of reflection, help us to see beyond ourselves
and then bless us to share the gift of our renewal with our families and communities. Cause our spirit to be refreshed by
your Spirit and cause our lives to be touched by your presence in a special way. This is our prayer and we pray it in the
name of Christ our risen Savior and Lord.
